Welcome to the redesigned Ursuline High School website! We believe it is an important resource for our alumni to connect with Ursuline High School, their classmates, former teachers, and friends. This site will be updated regularly to provide you with all exciting things that are going on at your alma mater. We hope that you will visit us regularly-both in person and in cyberspace.
Tradition is an important part of Ursuline High School. Our students enjoy when alumni return to campus and share their stories from "the good old days." Although many changes have been made to the visible parts of Ursuline’s campus, it is the invisible things or intangible elements such as the Ursuline spirit that remains the same. Our students are similar to you whether you walked the halls of Wick Avenue 5, 15 or 50 years ago! Students still wear uniforms and receive conduct cards. They still stand when an adult enters the room and they still visit the shrine before and after a game. Students still sing the Alma Mater and Fight Song. It is these ties that bind. Ursuline connects us all ~ alumni and students alike ~ to a common experience and an appreciation of all who have walked the halls of Ursuline High School.
Ursuline High School is aware that our connection to our students does not end at graduation. We are proud of the contributions that our alumni make to society year after year, and we want to make sure that all of our graduates feel a lifelong connection to Ursuline High School. We do this by making a concerted effort to keep our alumni involved in the many facets of our school, as well as regularly offering events and activities to bring alumni in contact with the school and each other.
Your Alma Mater has been reaching out to you, our alumni, since the Office of Alumni and Advancement was established in 1982 in conjunction with the 75th Jubilee. The Alumni Office coordinates alumni programs, raises funds for capital improvements and oversees the growth of the Endowment.
Ursuline's New Auditorium
The Endowment, primarily supported by alumni, supports the scholarship program so that young men and women may receive an Ursuline education. Alumni also contribute to the Annual Alumni Appeal, Phone-A-Thon, Adopt-A-Student program and various planned giving programs.
Successful Capital Campaigns have provided Ursuline the resources for renovations. In the 1990’s, the New Century Capital Campaign raised nearly $700,000 for capital improvements like the Library-Learning Center. The Auditorium Renovation Campaign raised more than $600,000. Upon completion, the auditorium was renamed the Deibel-Morley Arts Center after Sr. Rosemary Deibel and Sr. Alice Marie Morley who are credited with founding the fine and performing arts program at Ursuline. Currently, more than $3.8 million was raised during the Centennial Capital Campaign.
All alumni receive the Alumni Quarterly which keeps them connected to and involved with their Alma Mater. Formal programs include the Alumni Golf Outing, Annual Auction, Distinguished Alumni Ceremony, Career Day and Mentor Program, Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, the Danny Price Memorial Golf Classic and the Mary E. Murphy Shamrock Classic.
Alumni, we play an integral role in preserving the Ursuline tradition that we knew and loved, and in supporting the people and programs that carry on that tradition today. Whether your life’s journey has taken you a few miles away or half-way around the world, know that you are always welcome "home" at Ursuline High School.
Soli Deo Gloria!
