Ursuline High School Announces Major
Gift
to the
Centennial Capital Campaign
Ursuline High School
unveiled a new course for the future at press conference
on January 31st. The Cafaro Family announced a $1 million gift for the
Centennial Capital Campaign. The Campaign is a $4 million
endeavor, the largest of its kind in the history of school.
Ursuline's Capital Campaign is a broad-based effort that has reached
alumni, foundations and friends throughout the nation. The
goal consists of three major components: Endowment Scholarship
Building, Facility Renovation and Campus Expansion. To plan
for the Campaign, a 26-member committee of alumni and parents met
monthly for a year to examine the state of the school, identify
needs and to recommend strategies to meet those needs. School
officials also worked with YSU President David Sweet, chief campus
planner Hunter Morrison, Wick Neighbors and Youngstown 2010.
This provided Ursuline with access to powerful civic forces who both
recognize and support the school's position as an "anchor" property
on the city's North Side.
This generous gift
from the Cafaro Family members is indicative of their abiding
commitment to their Alma Mater, Ursuline High School. The
Cafaro Company is one of the largest privately owned shopping center
development and management companies in the United States.
Ursuline High School
is a college preparatory high school of the Roman Catholic Diocese
of Youngstown. Ursuline has been serving the Mahoning Valley
since 1905. Ursuline educates over 450 students each year.
